Morocco’s Authenticity and Modernity Party Signals Readiness to Join Government Coalition

The Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) is ready to participate in the Government. In a statement, its political bureau confirms its availability to "serve the general interest".
The party, which regressed from 16 seats out of the 86 obtained in 2016, has been supplanted by its direct rival the RNI which totaled 102 seats. Yet, during the election campaign, the PAM had accused the RNI of "flooding the political scene with money". Words that the RNI described as "irresponsible behavior that undermines the credibility of the upcoming elections in their entirety".
Thus, the members of the political bureau reiterated "the calls expressed by the party since the 4th congress held in February 2020, which consist in abandoning the red lines", to preserve the involvement of all political forces in the management of proximity, while insisting on "the importance of respecting the party’s electoral program, its major orientations and its modernist democratic principles".
It should be noted that the PAM political bureau has committed to organizing an extraordinary session of the National Council as soon as possible. The objective is to associate the members of the Council with the latest developments and decision-making related to the party’s positioning in the upcoming political and epidemiological choices.
