The Atlas Lions held their first training session on Monday, January 3, 2022, in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Vahid Halilhodzic’s men hope to get used to the Cameroonian climate before the start of the African competition.
The Atlas Lions have a very busy schedule before their debut on January 10 against Ghana. The Moroccan players showed determination and readiness to go far in the competition. This first preparation session comes a few days before the friendly match against Burkina Faso, and allowed the Lions to prepare their first match against Ghana.
At the end of the session, Moroccan international Imran Louza expressed his joy at being part of the Moroccan selection. For him, the team is revitalized and very determined. "We have collective goals. If we stay united, in a good state of mind, it will be a good step. In a corner of our minds, we all have high goals, that’s for sure."
Same tone with Selim Amallah who said that all the players were motivated and ready to give everything to honor Morocco during the CAN. "We arrived early to acclimatize in order to give the best of ourselves. We are motivated and determined to make the Moroccan people proud."
The technical staff specified that before the start of the competition, the Atlas Lions will have three training sessions to allow them to adapt to the Cameroonian climate.
