Morocco Arrests 16 for Violating COVID-19 Emergency Measures in Salé

Having committed violations of the security measures enacted under the state of health emergency, 16 people, including 11 minors, were taken into custody on Sunday in Salé.
The 16 individuals were arrested on the "Sidi chafii" square for their alleged involvement in inciting disobedience and riots during football matches, and for violating the emergency health procedures taken to fight against Covid-19, according to a statement from the DGSN.
A judicial investigation has been opened by the police under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to follow up on the material losses recorded and to determine the antecedents and motives for the commission of these acts.
