Morocco Arrests Two in Social Security Fraud Investigation

Two individuals, aged 30 and 53, were arrested by the judicial police elements of Beni Mellal. They would be involved in a case of falsification and use of medical coverage files.
It all started when the national security services received a complaint in which the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) noted many irregularities in medical files provided by private clinics in the cities of Beni Mellal and Marrakech.
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) therefore initiated field research and investigations to understand what was really going on. The investigations revealed that these files contain inaccurate medical data and bear the stamps of non-specialized medical staff or those who no longer practice.
The investigations also made it possible to identify a civil servant of a rural commune in the vicinity of Beni Mellal, who had benefited, through these fraudulent files, from various amounts of compensation, explains the DGSN. It is thanks to this information gathered that the main suspect, also a civil servant of a neighboring commune, was arrested.
The search of his home allowed the seizure of several personal stamps of doctors and clinics based in Beni Mellal, Marrakech, Rabat and Casablanca, as well as a batch of care sheets containing the personal information of the beneficiaries, who are moreover actively sought by the police, in order to determine their degree of involvement in this criminal activity.
The two defendants were placed in custody, at the disposal of the ongoing investigation, to determine all the ramifications of this case.
