Morocco Apache Helicopters Military Upgrade 2024
Morocco has just received seven new American Apache combat helicopters. An official handover organized in the south of the country, confirming the strengthening of the Kingdom’s military arsenal and its close alliance with Washington.
The delivery of this second batch of AH-64E aircraft took place on Friday, May 8 at Cap Draa airfield, in the Tan-Tan region. This handover came at the close of the 22nd edition of the African Lion joint military exercises. The event brought together senior officials from both countries.

On the Moroccan side, General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), chaired the delegation with Major Generals Mohamed Gadih and Mohammed Benlouali. The American delegation was represented by Generals Dagvin Anderson, head of Africom, Christopher T. Donahue and Daniel Boyack, accompanied by a group led by Texas congressman Ronny Jackson.

Beyond new military capabilities, the Moroccan general staff recalls in a statement that this program reflects "the level of cooperation and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America in matters of security and defense."
