The United States chooses Morocco for a new drone-related project
At the African Land Forces Summit held in Rome on March 23 and 24, the United States announced the creation of a regional drone training center in Morocco. This strategic hub aims to strengthen continental security.
The 13th edition of the annual summit, organized by the U.S. Army’s Task Force for Africa (SETAF-AF), brought together more than 300 participants from 47 countries. Among the senior officers present, Moroccan Major General Mohammed Lakouti actively participated in the proceedings. According to ADF Magazine, this meeting aimed to combine military expertise with cutting-edge technologies to address Africa’s security challenges.

General Christopher Donahue, commander of the U.S. Army for Europe and Africa, took advantage of the event to unveil a major training program. Morocco has been chosen to host a future regional training center dedicated to drone operators. This infrastructure will be based on the results of the upcoming "African Lion" exercise, scheduled for April and May in Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, and Ghana.
