Morocco - Angola match: Walid Regragui’s reaction

The friendly match between Morocco and Angola on Friday at the Grand Stadium of Agadir resulted in a victory for the Atlas Lions over the Black Antelopes (1-0). A slim victory to which the new players called up by Walid Regragui, the national coach, contributed.
First successful test for the Atlas Lions after the failed CAN. They beat Angola 1-0 on Friday. But Walid Regragui is not so satisfied with this slim victory. "We had a lot of situations and we had control, but we lacked efficiency in the first half. We stayed in our game in the 2nd half. We took possession of the ball despite some technical waste," commented the coach of the Moroccan team after the match. He nevertheless saluted the performance of the new Atlas Lions. "It was the first match for some players, but the most important thing was the victory and the opportunities we created, but I think that over time we will regain our efficiency. [...] Abqar took his chance today, next Tuesday we will see who will play in this position. There were Abqar, Ben Seghir, Diaz who played their first match with Morocco and I am very happy with their adaptation to the group," he analyzed.
Regragui continued: "Ben Seghir and Diaz are great players. They still need to establish connections with the other players, but I am satisfied with their incorporation into the group." He particularly appreciated the performance of Soufiane Rahimi, one of the architects of this victory. "I said it, Rahimi worked to return to the selection and he deserves it. I really appreciate the players who respond on the field. I’m happy for him."
After the match against Angola, Hakim Ziyech and his teammates will face Mauritania on Tuesday, March 26 at the Grand Stadium of Agadir. The Moroccan technician does not intend to make major changes. He would prefer to keep the core of the team.
