Morocco and Qatar Explore Energy Partnership, Focusing on Renewables and Efficiency

Morocco and Qatar are determined to strengthen their cooperation, especially in the energy sector. The Minister of Energy, Mines and Environment, Aziz Rabbah, and his Qatari counterpart for Energy, Saad bin Sharida Al-Kaabi, marked their interest in cooperation in this field on Tuesday.
The two officials exchanged by videoconference, a statement from the ministry said, specifying that the meeting focused on the joint technical committee established by the memorandum of understanding on oil, gas, electricity, renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Welcoming the excellence of the existing relations between the two countries, the two ministers expressed the willingness of their two Heads of State to strengthen this cooperation and to achieve an exceptional strategic partnership, based on opportunities of common interest, in order to transform them into concrete projects.
A first meeting of this committee is planned, the press release indicates, and to this end, the two parties, at the end of the meeting, appointed liaison officers within their respective departments.
