Morocco Inks Deal with IRENA to Boost Green Hydrogen Development

Faithful to its commitment to green hydrogen, Morocco signed a new agreement last week with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), aimed at accelerating the development of this green energy sector, in which the kingdom has firmly decided to position itself.
This strategic partnership agreement represents a new source of hope for the green hydrogen sector in Morocco. Thus, the Moroccan Ministry of Energy, Mines and Environment and IRENA have just found a new strategy to relaunch the green hydrogen machine in Morocco, known to be the regional pioneer in the energy transition.
The new option embarked on by the kingdom will allow it to realize its ambition to bring the production of electricity from renewable sources to 52% by 2030 and to this end Rabat has already taken several steps to seize the multiple opportunities offered by this new non-polluting energy source.
