Morocco and Israel Set to Finalize Bilateral Agreements in February Summit

An important ministerial delegation is expected to travel to Israel before the end of February, in order to finalize several bilateral cooperation agreements. This emerges from the recent telephone conversation between the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, and the Israeli National Security Advisor, Meir Ben Shabbat.
Working groups will be set up to activate the ratification of the many cooperation treaties between the two countries. The two diplomats listed several areas of activity, including agriculture, water, environment, tourism, science, innovation and energy.
Covid-19 pandemic obliges, the parties have agreed to hold mini-summits that the steering committees can hold remotely, pending an exchange of visits by high-level delegations from the two states, the dates of which are scheduled for February, according to information relayed by La MAP.
Following the signing of the historic tripartite agreement, King Mohammed VI welcomed, during a telephone conversation with the Israeli Prime Minister, the reactivation of cooperation mechanisms between Morocco and Israel and the resumption of regular contacts. For his part, Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to do everything in his power to make the process a success according to a precise schedule.
