Morocco and Israel Explore Football Diplomacy Following Diplomatic Normalization

Nearly a month after the normalization of relations between Israel and Morocco, officials in charge of Moroccan and Israeli football have exchanged by videoconference on the diplomacy of the round ball between the two countries.

The football officials of their respective countries also intend to strengthen the relations between the two countries, reports Al Ahdath Al Maghribia.

In his speech, Fouzi Lekjaa praised "the courageous action of King Mohammed VI which has made it possible to "strengthen the links between the peoples also through football". The President of the Moroccan Football Federation also invited his Israeli counterpart to visit Morocco to "reflect together on the ways in which we can build cooperation, and of course coordinate matches between our teams".

Touched by this approach of his "friend", President Oren Hasson expressed his enthusiasm by indicating that this initiative is the beginning of a "wonderful friendship". "Morocco is important and I have no doubt that what is starting on the pitch will thrive everywhere else," he added.
