Morocco and Israel Sign Landmark Football Cooperation Agreement

Against all odds, Morocco and Israel are working to strengthen their bilateral relations. The two countries have recently concluded an agreement described as historic to develop and promote football.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and the Israel Football Association (IFA) have signed a "historic" cooperation agreement, reports the Chinese news agency Xinhua. The signing of this agreement took place a few days ago in Rabat in the greatest discretion at the request of Morocco, in the presence of the Israeli ambassador, David Govrin, reports the newspaper Yediot Aharonot. On this occasion, the flags of the two countries were hoisted.
Entitled "Football for hope, humanity and peace", this agreement received the blessing of FIFA and CAF. It aims to develop and promote young players, including the possibility for Israeli footballers to go to the Mohammed VI football academy in Salé.
Friendly matches between national teams of several age categories will be organized as part of this agreement. An exchange of referees and a possible visit to Morocco by the Israeli national under-17 team are also planned. This visit will take place in the coming weeks, it is specified.
