FIFA Council: Moroccan Football Chief Lekjaa's Candidacy Approved

The FIFA Governance Committee has approved the candidacy of Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), for the position of member of the FIFA Council.

Good news for Lekjaa who represents the African continent. What’s next? The presidents of the African federations will meet in Rabat on March 12 for the next General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). They will be tasked with electing their future representatives to the FIFA Council. They will also proceed to elect the successor of Ahmad Ahmad at the head of the pan-African body.

In addition to the position of second vice-president of the CAF, Fouzi Lekjaa is president of the CAF Finance Committee and vice-president of the Inter-Club Competitions Organization Committee and the Club Licensing System Management Committee within the pan-African body. He also sits on the FIFA Governance Committee.
