Morocco-Algeria CHAN Qualifier Rescheduled, Disrupting Botola Clubs’ Plans
Thursday 19 September 2019, by
At the request of the Algerian Football Federation, the Algeria-Morocco match, initially scheduled for Friday, September 20, will be played on the following Saturday, as part of the qualifiers for the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) football tournament. A postponement that disrupts the schedule of coach Houcine Ammouta and the Botola clubs.
A disruptive postponement. The Algerian Football Federation is apparently forced to request the postponement of the match between the local player selection and that of Morocco, counting for the qualifiers of the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) football tournament. This match, which was to be played on Friday, September 20 in the Algerian city of Blida, has been postponed to the following Saturday, reports Assabah.
As a result, this postponement has a negative impact not only on the preparation program of coach Houcine Ammouta, but also on Raja, who were to play a match against Al Quds of Palestine on Monday, September 23.
The club is thus obliged to submit a request to postpone this match of the Mohammed VI Cup, indicates the same source.
After participating with their clubs in the Champions League and Confederation Cup qualifiers, the players of Raja, Wydad and RS Berkane, summoned by Ammouta, have already joined the A-team training camp.
Meanwhile, the players from the other clubs have also joined the gathering of the selection. They have already carried out two training sessions in the annex of the Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat.
The A-team will fly to Algeria on Thursday, September 19, 2019. Upon arrival, the local team coach will hold a press conference before the match.
