Morocco airports slash passport queues 70% Casablanca 2026

The average time spent on passport control now stands at 3.6 minutes at departure from Moroccan airports, a 24% decrease compared to the same period in 2025. On arrival, it reaches 9.6 minutes on average, an improvement of 22%.

The most significant progress was recorded at Casablanca’s Mohammed V airport. At departure, the average processing time fell from approximately 7 minutes 30 to 2 minutes 15, representing a 70% reduction. On arrival, it dropped from nearly 12 minutes to 5 minutes 24, a decrease of 54%.

At Marrakech-Menara, the average time now reaches 6.86 minutes on arrival, a 16% decrease. At departure, travelers pass through controls in 5.09 minutes on average, compared to a 22.5% longer delay a year earlier.

According to Airports of Morocco, these results are the first effects of measures implemented to streamline the passenger journey and strengthen the efficiency of border controls.

The improvement also affects several other platforms. In Tangier, the average processing time on arrival has been reduced to 11.93 minutes, a 52% decrease. In Fès, it no longer exceeds 1.53 minutes at departure, one of the best results in the Moroccan airport network.

In Agadir, the average time on arrival remains under ten minutes. These results come as airports in the kingdom record sustained growth in the number of travelers, particularly during the summer season and periods when Moroccans residing abroad return home.
