Marrakech Airport Overtakes Casablanca International Flights 2026
Casablanca remains Morocco’s leading airport by total passenger numbers in the first half of 2026. However, the ranking reverses when only international flights are considered: Marrakech now surpasses the Kingdom’s main airport platform.
Between January and June 2026, Marrakech-Ménara airport welcomed 5,392,236 international passengers, compared to 5,157,259 for Mohammed V. Marrakech thus holds an advantage of 234,977 travelers on international routes, according to June 2026 statistics published by the National Airports Office (ONDA).

Casablanca nevertheless maintains the top position in the overall ranking with 5,756,388 passengers, compared to 5,636,776 at Marrakech. The gap between Morocco’s two leading airports is now only 119,612 travelers.
Casablanca’s advantage rests entirely on domestic flights. The Casablanca airport recorded 599,129 domestic passengers, compared to 244,540 at Marrakech, a difference of 354,589 travelers.

On international traffic alone, both platforms are advancing at nearly the same pace: +10.10% for Casablanca and +9.81% for Marrakech. The tourist capital, however, benefits from much stronger growth in its domestic traffic, up 25.39%, compared to 10.43% at Casablanca.
