Morocco Air and Port Traffic Hit New Records in 2026

Moroccan air transport begins 2026 with a record performance of 3.1 million passengers in January, representing an increase of 14.7%. At the same time, port traffic closed 2025 with robust growth of 8.9%.

According to figures published by the Directorate of Financial Studies and Forecasts (DEPF), the Moroccan skies surpassed the 3.1 million travelers mark for the first time in a January. This momentum is driven by the joint growth of international (+14.9%) and domestic (+13.1%) routes. The geographic segments linked to Africa (+28.9%) and the Americas (+30.7%) posted the most spectacular growth, while air freight increased by 7.4%.

On the maritime front, the 2025 figures reveal a commercial volume of 262.6 million tonnes handled in the Kingdom’s ports. This result, up 8.9%, was primarily supported by transshipment activity. The latter, up 14.7%, now accounts for more than half of total traffic (50.5%). Exports and imports also continued to grow, although at a more moderate pace, by 1.4% and 2.8%, respectively.

Passenger transport by sea also remained strong, with a flow of 5.6 million travelers over the whole of 2025, marking an increase of 5.4%. Cruise activity stood out particularly, with a remarkable jump of 41.7%, bringing the number of cruise passengers to more than 383 000.
