Moroccan tourism generates a historic record

Morocco generated a record of 138 billion dirhams in tourism revenue in 2025, an increase of 21%. With 20 million visitors, the Kingdom exceeds its strategic objectives and confirms its change in international dimension.

Moroccan tourism activity has reached a historic milestone at the end of December 2025. Foreign exchange travel receipts reached 138 billion dirhams (MMDH), marking a 21% increase compared to the previous year. This result clearly exceeds the forecasts of the national roadmap, which initially targeted 120 billion dirhams by 2026.

This unprecedented momentum is based on a record influx of 20 million visitors during the past year. The sector benefits from a diversification of the offer across the different regions of the Kingdom and an upgrading of the customer experience. This expansion of tourism products has strengthened Morocco’s attractiveness in international markets.

The domestic market is also consolidating its weight in the national economy of the sector. Spending by Moroccan tourists is estimated at 48 billion dirhams for the year 2025. This vitality of domestic demand shows its growing role in the sustainability of tourism activity and the overall dynamism of the travel industry.

Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, stressed that this record confirms growth based on the value generated and not just on volume. The government’s ambition remains to make tourism a sustainable lever for job creation and a driver of territorial development for the entire country.
