Morocco Advances Cannabis Research with New Scientific Partnerships

The Moroccan Consultative Association for the Use of Cannabis (AMCUC), and three national research structures have signed partnerships to deepen the various scientific and socio-economic aspects of cannabis.
These agreements were signed on the sidelines of the 1st International Conference on the Therapeutic and Industrial Potential of Hemp in Morocco taking place from October 22 to 24 in Tangier.
The meeting is part of Morocco’s efforts to develop the various scientific and socio-economic aspects, in order to bring considerable added value to this sector.
The first agreement aims to develop scientific research on cannabis and its derivatives, to achieve better scientific exploitation of this natural wealth.
The second one aims to support and accompany initiatives and programs, aimed at promoting the industrial and therapeutic use of cannabis in the region.
Regarding the 3rd partnership agreement, it sets itself the objectives of conducting in-depth research on cannabis and its derivatives, and training farmers as part of the "Kif Takwin" training project, launched by the association, to develop the level of learning of the beneficiaries and promote the modernization of agriculture.
The 4th convention, for its part, aims to develop strategic research areas to make the best use of the potential of cannabis in Morocco.
