Moroccans Urge Boycott of Mawazine Music Festival in Solidarity with Gaza

Many Moroccans have called on social media to boycott the Mawazine Rythmes du Monde festival, in solidarity with Gaza.
The hashtag "Boycott Mawazine" has quickly spread on social media, a few weeks before the launch of the Festival scheduled for June 21. The initiators are asking the invited artists to this event to refrain from participating, in solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. According to them, the colossal budget planned for the travel and fees of these artists could be used to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The activists have also called on the residents of Rabat and Salé to boycott the Mawazine festival by refraining from attending the concerts. The Mawazine festival will take place from June 21 to 29 in Rabat. Several Arab celebrities like Najwa Karam, Haifa Wehbe, Carole Samaha, Ramy Ayach, Samira Said, as well as foreign ones like American star Nicki Minaj, will mark their imprint on this 19th edition.
