Moroccan Workers Lead Foreign Contributors to Spanish Social Security System

There are more than 262,000 Moroccan workers affiliated with the social security system in Spain as of the end of October 2019. These figures have just been published by the Spanish Ministry of Labor, Migration and Social Security.
It emerges from these data that Moroccans are now, by far, the first foreigners to contribute to the Spanish Social Security. They are followed by the Chinese, Colombians and Ecuadorians.
According to the press release, the total number of foreigners affiliated with the Spanish social security system reached 2,149,771 people in the first ten months of 2019.
According to data from the National Institute of Statistics, the number of Moroccans legally established in Spain was estimated at 812,412 people as of January 1, 2019.
