Moroccan Woman Offers Free Shelter and Support to Cancer Patients in Rabat

Tuesday 11 June 2019, by Marcel

Khadija El Qorti is a Moroccan woman whose generosity is manifested by her assistance to women with cancer.

Reception, accommodation, catering, transportation and psychological support. This is what the Moroccan Khadija El Qorti provides for people with cancer. She does this through the "Jannat Association for the Reception of Destitute Women with Cancer". She created it in 2009. This year is also the beginning of this charitable action.

At the age of 73, she is originally from Zagora and opens her home to these sick women passing through Rabat to undergo chemotherapy. She picks them up from all over Morocco. The disappearance of her husband and sister gave her the impetus for such a commitment. And the stay of these patients at her home can last several months.

In addition to providing them with lodging, she feeds them for the entire time they are at her place. She also runs a shuttle to ensure their transportation from the headquarters of the Association to the hospital. She guarantees their well-being. Lhajja is the name by which the beneficiaries of her good deeds affectionately call her.
