A Moroccan woman fleeing France with her three children arrested in Tarifa

The incident occurred on December 11th during exit controls from the Schengen area. The officers of the National Police of Cádiz spotted the mother and her three minors as they were about to cross the strait. Routine checks quickly triggered an alert via the Sirene international cooperation system, revealing that the children were the subject of urgent protection measures issued by France.

The French authorities had been actively searching for the family since November 21st, the date on which the mother had removed her children from the vigilance of the social services. The latter had been placed under guardianship due to suspicions of abuse. Fully aware of the legal proceedings against her, the suspect was attempting to flee European justice by taking refuge outside the European area, with Morocco as her final destination.

Following this police intervention, the three minors were immediately separated from their mother and entrusted to the Spanish social services to ensure their safety.
