Luxury cars stolen in France resold in Morocco

This is a spectacular seizure for the agents of the Algeciras tax section. Over the past two months, the strengthening of border controls has made it possible to dismantle a network of stolen vehicle exports. The traffickers were trying to smuggle high-end automobiles, often disguised to deceive customs officials, into the Kingdom.

The Guardia Civil parking lot now resembles a prestige dealership. Among the seized items are two Mercedes AMG G63, an Audi RS Q8, two Audi RS Q3 and two Range Rover Sport. Virtually new vehicles, registered only a few months ago.

Investigators also seized a van full of scooters and electric bicycles stolen in France. At the same time, four other cars ready to be shipped to Morocco were located in the province.

The ingenuity of the traffickers has been thwarted. One case stands out: that of an Audi RS4 (estimated at 110,000 euros). The arrested driver had acquired the sports car in Germany by usurping the identity of a deceased Spanish citizen, posing as a relative of the deceased to obtain financing. Thanks to international cooperation, other fraudulent purchase attempts have been blocked.

In total, five people were arrested and thirty others are under investigation for theft, receiving stolen goods and forgery. The authorities have already contacted the legitimate owners to return the vehicles.
