Moroccan Woman Dies After Falling into Well While Fetching Water

A woman was found dead, having fallen into a well while trying to draw water in Taounate. The body was recovered by the rescue teams and taken to the morgue for an autopsy.
The 40-year-old victim had gone to fetch water from a well near her home but had not returned, a family member said, adding that suspicions quickly turned to the 6-meter-deep well.
This hypothesis proved to be correct, as the emergency services, alerted, eventually recovered the victim’s body. It was transferred to the morgue for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and to ensure that there was no premeditated crime, a local source said.
On the instructions of the public prosecutor’s office, the judicial police are currently conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances and reasons for the tragedy.
