Moroccan TV Viewership Soars During Coronavirus Lockdown

Moroccans are developing an increased interest in television during this period marked by confinement due to the coronavirus. Their television consumption has thus increased in recent days.
In a press release, the Interprofessional Center for Media Audience Measurement (CIAUMED) indicates that the average viewing time per individual is 5 hours and 59 minutes during the period from March 18 to 24. The results are based on a sample of 4,138 people aged 5 and over, living in 1,023 households. Compared to the data for the week of March 11 to 17 (4 hours and 34 minutes), the average viewing time per individual has increased.
This increase is explained by the measures taken by the Ministry of the Interior, including confinement, to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Restrictions on outdoor entertainment have led many Moroccans to turn to television in an attempt to entertain themselves.
