Survey: 88% of Moroccans Support Timing of COVID-19 Lockdown Measures

What do Moroccans think about the state of emergency and the lockdown? This is the subject of a survey whose results have just been released.

This is a survey conducted by the newspaper l’Économiste and Sunergia to which Moroccans continue to respond. Its objective is to measure the impacts of the coronavirus on the daily lives of Moroccans and the measures taken by the authorities of the kingdom to fight the pandemic.

Regarding the health isolation measures, 88% of respondents think that they were taken at the right time. On the economic level, the Moroccans most affected are those with an income of less than 2,000 DH.

The impacts of the coronavirus are felt in the daily lives of Moroccans. The survey results show that the higher the income, the less the impact is felt. Thus, 25% for those who earn more than 12,000 DH, 28% for those who earn between 6,000 and 12,000 DH and 30% for Moroccans who earn between 4,000 and 6,000 DH.

The survey also revealed that 64% of men compared to 63% of women think that the pre-confinement measure did not affect their relationships with their loved ones. 64% of under 18s, 62% of 25-34 year olds and 74% of over 65s surveyed have the same opinion on the subject. As for the outcome of the covid-19 crisis, 79.98% of Moroccans are currently optimistic, compared to 20.11% who are not.
