Moroccan Survey: Majority Support Border Closures Amid Omicron Concerns

What do Moroccans think of the border closures decided by the authorities as part of the fight against the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic? This is the subject of a survey just conducted by the Sunergia group.
57% of Moroccans aged 55 and over think that the government’s decision to close borders to deal with the spread of the Omicron variant is a good thing, compared to 27% who believe it was "a bad decision". The rest of the sample (16%) have no opinion on the matter, reports l’Économiste.
The survey also reveals that women (61%) are more in favor of border closures than men (53%). By place of residence, those living in urban areas (60%), especially in central Morocco, defend the fairness of border closures against 54% in rural areas.
Moroccans appreciate the various measures taken by the authorities in different ways. Even if most understand the different implications, it is the social consequences resulting from these measures that are disturbing.
