Moroccan Scientists Shatter Global Rankings: 4 Pioneers Break into World's Top 200 Researchers

Four Moroccan scientists are ranked among the best researchers in the world.

The 2025 Academic Development Index ranking places four Moroccan scientists among the top 200 researchers in the world. The first is named Abdesalam Hamada. A researcher at the University of Hassan II in Casablanca, he ranks 40th in the world. This recognition is due to his exceptional contributions to nuclear research, notably through his work with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). Idris Ben Shakroun ranks 131st in the world. Farida El Fassi takes 169th place. She is the first Moroccan woman to be among the 200 best scientists in the world.

Raja Cherkaoui El Moursli, professor of nuclear physics at the University of Mohammed V in Rabat, is also on the list. She holds the 182nd place in the world. In addition to these four scientists, six other Moroccan researchers complete the national top 10. They come from various scientific fields, including nuclear physics, electrochemistry and sustainable agriculture.

This strong Moroccan presence reflects the growing presence of Moroccan researchers on the international scientific stage, demonstrating their contributions to the advancement of knowledge in specific and influential fields.
