Moroccan Scientists Shine in Stanford University’s Global Ranking of Top Researchers

Six Moroccan researchers are among the world’s top scientists, according to the 2024 ranking of Stanford University.
The Moroccan researchers Mounir Ghogho, Berrada Asmae, Mohamed Balli, Said Ahzi, Amine Belhadi and Foued Saâdaoui from the International University of Rabat (UIR) are featured in this ranking. "The recognition of this version of the ranking salutes the exceptional performance of our experts, both for the whole of their careers as authors and for their scientific productions during the year 2023," the UIR said in a statement.
The Stanford University ranking is based on scientific production indexed on SCOPUS, the international leader in indexing scientific publications, as well as criteria such as the quality of publications, the number of citations and the impact of researchers’ work. It aims to assess the scientific contribution of researchers in various fields.
"Being among the top 2% of the best scientists in this ranking is a major distinction for the UIR and testifies to the quality of its academic research and its commitment to excellence," the note specifies. This distinction honors the International University of Rabat, assures its president. "We are immensely proud of this international recognition that reflects the quality and impact of the research conducted at the UIR and honors the Moroccan university".
And to add that this distinction "demonstrates our ability to rise to the top of world research and to make significant contributions to scientific and technological advances".
