Survey: Half of Moroccan Households Struggle with Extended COVID-19 Lockdown

The results of a survey conducted by the High Commission for Planning (HCP) revealed that 53% of households would have difficulty if the confinement period were extended. The survey focused on "the impact of coronavirus on the economic, social and psychological situation of households".
Published on Tuesday by the HCP, the survey shows that only "40% of households are likely to withstand any duration of extension of the confinement set by the government. On the other hand, the rest of the households could only withstand it for an average of 32 days.
The same survey indicates that "18% of households have felt a deterioration in family relationships due to confinement". But for 72% of households, "the quality of family relationships within the household has not been influenced by the context of confinement. For the rest of the households, these relationships are more peaceful and more consolidated".
Regarding the arrangements made by households to cope with confinement, the HCP reports that to "temper confinement, more than 66% of households watch series or movies, read or engage in other intellectual or leisure activities, 51% spend more time with family, 37% resort to religion, 35% maintain contact with friends and loved ones through means of communication, 12% exercise at home and 9% multiply authorized outings".
