Moroccan University Tops National Rankings in QS Arab Region Report

The Cadi Ayyad University (UCA) of Marrakech ranked first in Morocco in the latest ranking published by QS Arab Region University Rankings 2021.

This national and regional leadership position of UCA is the result of scientific research, one of the pillars of its innovative teaching model, according to a statement from the University, specifying that UCA of Marrakech had already occupied the first position at the national level and the 2nd at the African level in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021.

This ranking is based on 10 indicators, which are academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, international research network, web impact, proportion of doctorate holders, citations per article, articles per faculty, proportion of international faculty and finally proportion of international students, details the same source.

In addition to UCA of Marrakech (91-100), seven Moroccan universities are featured in this ranking, namely:

• Al Akhawayn University of Ifrane (101-110),
• Hassan II University of Casablanca (101-110),
• Mohammed V University of Rabat (101-110),
• Ibn Tofail University of Kenitra (121-130),
• Mohammed 1st University of Oujda (131-160)
• Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah University of Fez (131-160).

Morocco is outpaced by Saudi Arabia, whose King Abdulaziz University comes out on top as the best university in the Top 10 of the Arab region. In 2nd place, the American University of Beirut (Lebanon), followed by the University of Qatar (3rd), the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Saudi Arabia-4th place), the University of the United Arab Emirates (5th), the King Saud University (Saudi Arabia-6th), the American University of Sharjah (UAE-7th), the Sultan Qaboos University (Oman - 8th), the Khalifa University (UAE-9th position) and the University of Jordan (10th).
