Former Yale Dean Appointed Vice President at Morocco’s Al Akhawayn University

Dr. Christopher S. Taylor, former dean of Yale University, has just been appointed Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI), succeeding Dr. Nizar Messari in the position for ten years.
Holder of a Bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University, a Master’s and a Doctorate from Princeton University, Dr. Taylor has a rich academic background and long experience in American universities with models similar to that of Al Akhawayn, the University indicates in a press release.
The new manager has held the positions of Dean of the Grace Hopper College at Yale University, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Drew University, Dean of the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies at the same university, and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Habib University.
In the exercise of his new functions, Dr. Taylor will have to continue to promote the excellence associated with the accreditation of Al Akhawayn by the prestigious American agency NECHE, by leading the academic affairs, in order to achieve the objectives of the 2020-2025 strategic plan set by the AUI.
In its prospects, the university aims to provide an integrated experiential training with the student’s life on campus, guided by the values of inspiration, transformation and impact, and focused on the academic and professional success of students and graduates of Al Akhawayn, the same source points out.
