Moroccan Ultra-Runner El Morabity Triumphs in Inaugural French Trail Marathon

New consecration for Rachid El Morabity. After winning the Marathon des Sables in Morocco nine times, he won the new Trail Marathon, organized by Aquaterra (Corrèze - France).
Rachid El Morabity’s performances continue to amaze. Knowing his track record, he was closely watched by his competitors. But he still managed to outdo them, imposing his pace and getting ahead of them in the first few kilometers. Even though a removed marker made him lose track of the course, he was able to catch up with the same determination that made him win the Marathon des Sables nine times.
For Raphaël Riom, who finished second in the new Trail Marathon, El Morabity is a runner of rare quality. "He dropped me after the last climb, he was running at a pace I couldn’t keep up with. Too bad he got lost... He would have done an incredible time! Seeing him run at that pace and maintain it is mind-blowing." The Moroccan runner has already booked his place for the 12th edition.
Corinne Sabatier, the organizer of this race, was delighted to have been able to count on the invaluable presence of this ultra-trail specialist.
