  Another victory for Rachid El Morabity. The Moroccan has just won the "Meraas Al Marmoom Ultramarathon 2018".
  Considered the longest marathon des sables in the world, it was covered in just over 30 hours by the Moroccan, ahead of Frenchman Muriel Robert and Iranian Akbar Najdi Niryan.

  After several postponements due to Covid-19, the 2021 Marathon des Sables was successfully held this week. This is the famous extreme event that takes place in the Sahara desert where athletes cross sand dunes and stony plains in an arid climate, sometimes under a strong midday heat.

• Moroccan Runner Clinches 9th Marathon des Sables Victory in Sahara Desert Challenge

  The 36th edition of the Marathon des Sables, an extreme 230 km course over 6 days in the desert, was once again won by the Moroccan Rachid El Morabity. A 9th title for the 40-year-old athlete.
  El Morabity won the race, finishing with a time of 18 hours 33 minutes, one minute ahead of his brother, Mohammed El Morabity.
