Moroccan Tourists Increasingly Choose Spain for Year-End Holidays

Many Moroccans, especially those from the north of the kingdom - prefer to spend their year-end holidays abroad, particularly in Spain.
"I look forward to this time of year with impatience. For the past three years, I have been visiting southern Spain to relax and shop away from Tangier and its routine," says Mohamed, a resident of Tangier, to Hespress. According to him, it is the high cost and rising prices of tourism in popular Moroccan destinations like Marrakech and Agadir that push him to spend the cities of southern Spain.
This experience "is very attractive to me, and I cannot find a similar offer in Morocco for the same price," he said, specifying that this argument "pushes many Moroccans to make this choice." Mohamed also said that he meets many Moroccans in Marbella during New Year’s, some of whom even come with their own car.
Mohamed Radi, owner of a travel agency in Tangier, confirms that Moroccans from the north choose to spend the end-of-year holidays in Spain. According to him, the vast majority of his clients go to southern Spain for their short stays. A choice motivated, according to him, by geographical proximity. Very few people prefer to go to France, Radi added.
