Moroccan Teen Dies by Suicide After Failing National Baccalaureate Exam
The results of the 2019 Baccalaureate exam did not make everyone happy. Dissatisfied with his failure, a young man committed suicide on Monday, July 8, 2019, in the province of Tamassint, near Al Hoceima.
The results of the 2019 Baccalaureate exam recorded a national pass rate of 65.55%, compared to 57.36% in 2018, an increase of 8.19%.
While in some families joy was present, in several others, desolation and sadness combined their efforts to sometimes lead the unfortunate candidates to the worst.
This is the case of this 18-year-old young man whose death is reported by Barlamane. According to the online media’s local sources, the young man’s psychological state deteriorated following his failure in the Baccalaureate exam. A step nevertheless crossed successfully by many of his classmates.
Unable to bear all the pain resulting from this failure, the person in question took his own life, using a rope he had taken care to hang from one of the windows of the family home, the same source specifies.
The young man’s body was transferred to the morgue for autopsy for the purposes of the investigation, Barlamane continues. This media specifies that the Royal Gendarmerie is already in charge of the investigation into this tragedy, in order to determine all the circumstances of the young man’s death, who unfortunately left in the prime of life.
