Moroccan Teen Dies in Fatal Fall During Attempted Border Crossing to Spain

A tragedy occurred at the border between Morocco and Spain, where a 17-year-old Moroccan boy died trying to illegally enter Spanish territory.
The teenager had climbed onto an international transport truck in the hope of crossing the Beni Enzar border. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and fell head first, suffering a severe hemorrhage that proved fatal. The young man’s body was transferred to the morgue of the Al-Hassani hospital.
This tragic incident is not the first of its kind in the region, recalls the local site Nadorcity. Indeed, many young people in precarious situations are trying to reach what they consider the "European paradise". Some do not hesitate to risk their lives by trying to infiltrate through the port of Beni Enzar or by hiding in trucks or international transport buses.
The issue of illegal immigration, from the coasts of Nador and the port of Beni Enzar as well as its border crossing with Melilla, has become a major challenge for the Moroccan government and European countries. The debate around this phenomenon raises many issues and hypotheses, particularly concerning the mechanisms and solutions to be put in place to stem this situation, writes the same source.
