Moroccan Teen’s Body Found on Beach After Kayak Tragedy; Two Still Missing

The lifeless body found on the beach of Fnideq is indeed that of Souleymane, the young Moroccan who left Tangier in a kayak with two friends and disappeared at sea since April 13. His family has identified the body.
Souleymane’s family confirmed the news to El Faro de Ceuta. "He left to build a better future for himself," his sister explains on the phone. His two unfortunate companions, Achraf and Ayoub, are still missing.
Souleymane, 18 years old, was part of a family of 9 children. His body was found with his life jacket. Pending the autopsy, everything indicates that he died by drowning. Souleymane’s inconsolable sister deplores these many cases of death or disappearance at sea of young Moroccans who, desperate about the situation in Morocco, decide to immigrate illegally to Spain, at the risk of their lives.
