French National Found Dead on Spanish Beach Near Moroccan Border

The Civil Guard found on Sunday, on a beach in Ceuta near the border with Morocco, the lifeless body of a man about 60 years old. The local authorities claim that he had French papers on him.
The body was discovered on the Benzú beach by a group of individuals who alerted the police. At first, it seemed that it was the body of a Moroccan migrant who had tried to reach Ceuta by swimming. But the Civil Guard later said the man was carrying French papers.
An investigation has been opened by the judicial police to determine the victim’s situation. For the Civil Guard, the victim could be a French citizen who was on Moroccan territory and died trying to reach the Spanish coast by swimming due to the closure of the borders.
The body was transferred to the municipal morgue for an autopsy that will reveal the exact causes of death, although everything seems to indicate that he died by drowning and no signs of blows were seen on his body.
