Moroccan Striker Sofiane Boufal Set to Join Qatar’s Al-Rayyan from Angers SCO

After Azzedine Ounahi, it is the turn of Sofiane Boufal to bid farewell to the Angers club, according to the announcement made on Monday on the French club’s Twitter account.
Angers announced that they have reached an agreement in principle with the Qatari club of Alrayyan for the transfer of Moroccan striker Sofiane Boufal. "The player is authorized to travel to Qatar on Tuesday to undergo the medical examination," can be read on Twitter. But no details were given on the duration and amount of the transfer.
Trained at Angers SCO, Sofiane Boufal left the club in 2015 for three different clubs such as LOSC Lille, Southampton FC, Celta de Vigo before returning in 2020 to his training club. On March 14, 2016, he chose Morocco over France. Author of an exceptional performance at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, he was targeted by several European clubs, and his departure from Angers was obvious, his coach had acknowledged.
But contrary to what some media have reported, it is not to a European club that the 29-year-old Moroccan striker will land. The details of the contract with the Qatari club of Alrayyan will be published after the successful completion of his medical examination. What is certain is that a talented player will join the Qatari championship, considered very weak.
