Moroccan Striker En-Nesyri Soars: 20 Goals This Season for Sevilla FC
Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri who declined an offer from West Ham, is having a great season. He has already scored 20 goals in 2022/23.
Youssef En-Nesyri is making football lovers dream. With a playing style like that of a Mortal Kombat fighter (making his springy headers his own "finishing move"), he has risen to the occasion. He gave the victory to Sevilla FC against Villarreal... with a furious header following a corner (2-1). "En-Nesyri’s goal in the 94th minute is crucial. It’s almost impossible to defend against him when the ball is well launched," explains Terry Gibson, Spanish football expert, in the La Liga Weekly podcast of El Tel and Jon.
"You can see him in motion, and he jumps... He has a fantastic leap. You then say that it is impossible to stop him if he is well launched. His movement is good and his technique has improved with his heading game," he added. Before this victory, the Moroccan striker was the architect of the victory against Manchester United (3-0) in the Europa League quarter-final second leg with a brace. Now, the one who eliminated Portugal during the World Cup in Qatar with a flash of brilliance has scored 20 goals for the club and the country in 2022/23.
In another register, the Spanish newspaper Estadio Deportivo reveals that En-Nesyri turned down a £17 million transfer to West Ham in January, just a few weeks after helping Morocco become the first African team in World Cup history to reach the semi-finals.
