Moroccan Striker En-Nesyri Hits 100 Games for Sevilla Amid Goal Drought

FC Seville lost 4-2 to Granada FC on Friday. None of the two Seville goals scored in stoppage time bore the signature of Youssef En-Nesyri, who celebrated his hundredth game with the Spanish club. "Happy to have 100 games in this great club. Thank you, Sevilla FC," En-Nesyri wrote on his social media, posing with a framed jersey that was presented to him on the occasion by the club president, José Castro.

Despite all his efforts, En-Nesyri failed to find the back of the net in this match against Granada, he who has not scored a goal in 16 games. His last goal dates back to September 25, against Espanyol. Unavailable for a little over two months due to injury, he played a few minutes in two matches in December before joining the Moroccan national team to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

In this continental competition, the Moroccan striker scored against Malawi in the round of 16. This is actually his only goal since the beginning of this year 2022. "I fall and I don’t die," En-Nesyri wrote on his Instagram account on Saturday, who is going through one of the worst moments of his career. The Moroccan has only scored 3 goals in 23 games, in all competitions (Liga, Champions League and Europa League), or one goal every 386 minutes.

Yet, Youssef En-Nesyri was at the top of his form in the 20/21 season, during which he scored 24 goals, and a little less in the previous seasons where he scored 10 goals respectively.
