Moroccan Star Hakim Ziyech Ranks Second Among Top Maghreb Footballers

Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech occupies second place in the ranking of the best Maghreb players, ahead of Ramy Bensebaini, and behind the Algerian, Riyad Mahrez.
Achraf Hakimi, Younes Abdelhamid and Hakim Ziyech were the three Moroccans on the list of 10 footballers nominated for the "Maghreb player of the year" award by France Football. Six other Algerians and one Tunisian were also in the running. They are respectively Riyad Mahrez, Ismaël Bennacer, Ramy Bensebaini, Youcef Atal, Youcef Belaili, Baghdad Bounedjah and Anice Badri.
In the end, the Algerian international Riyad Mahrez was named best Maghreb player of the year, ahead of the Atlas Lion, Hakim Ziyech. He thus succeeds the Tunisian, Anice Badri, winner of the previous edition.
In 2017, the former captain of the Atlas Lions, Medhi Benatia, had also won this award.
