Tunisian Star Anice Badri Tops France Football’s Maghreb Player Poll, Outshining Ziyech and Mahrez
France Football readers have voted. They elected Tunisian player Anice Badri as the best Maghreb player, far ahead of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech.
The Espérance de Tunis player won 47% of the votes, ahead of Moroccan Ziyech 15%, Riyad Mahrez 12% and a little further behind Moroccans Achraf Hakimi (2%) and Medhi Benatia, also 2%, a player who had won the title the previous year.
Interviewed by France Football, the Tunisian born in France admitted to having voted by mistake for the Moroccan. "I have to admit that I voted, well I tried to vote for myself, but I slipped without meaning to on Hakim Ziyech (Laughs...) It was too late, I couldn’t click on my name!" he confessed.
