Morocco’s Ziyech Sidelined for AFCON Qualifiers Against Central African Republic

The Moroccan international, Hakim Ziyech, injured, will not be able to participate in the double confrontation of Morocco against the Central African Republic.
A blow for Ziyech and the Atlas Lions! The playmaker of the Moroccan national team is ruled out for these two matches. According to the medical report provided by his Amsterdam club, Hakim Ziyech will be unavailable for a period of one and a half months.
As a result, he will miss the matches of the third and fourth rounds of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which will take place in January and February 2021 in Cameroon. The Ajax Amsterdam player will therefore be absent in March against the Central African Republic.
As for the coach of the Atlas Lions, Vahid Halilhodzic, he preferred to play the card of caution, by demanding the detailed medical report on Ziyech’s injury, before pronouncing on his absence during the two matches in March.
It should be recalled that the Moroccan player had left his teammates in the middle of the match, against Sparta Rotterdam, last Sunday. The medical examinations passed indicate that the player is suffering from a tear in the calf.
