Moroccan Star Amrabat’s Barcelona Move Collapses as Fiorentina Rejects Bid

Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat is "devastated" after the failure of his transfer to FC Barcelona. He is angry with the leaders of his club, Fiorentina, who thwarted his departure.
Sofyan Amrabat, revelation of the 2022 Qatar World Cup with the Moroccan team, will not ultimately join Barça. His wish to leave his current club, Fiorentina, to sign in La Liga has not come true. Barça offered the Italian club a paying loan of 3 million euros with a fixed purchase option of 37 million, in order to recruit the Moroccan international (17 matches in Serie A) before the end of the winter transfer window, a proposal rejected by the leaders of the Viola.
This has annoyed the Moroccan midfielder under contract with Fiorentina until 2024. On Tuesday, he deliberately skipped the day’s training with the Italian club. According to Spanish journalist Toni Juan Marti, the 26-year-old player has been "devastated" and "hurt" after Viola’s refusal of FC Barcelona’s offer. "Go now. The future is promised to no one," Sofyan laments in an English post on his Instagram account.
