Moroccan Soccer Team Masseur Arrested for Alleged Attempted Rape of Tourist

The masseur of Olympique de Safi (OCS), the football club of the city, was arrested on Monday for attempted rape of a foreign tourist.
Arrested by judicial police officers in Marrakech, the 53-year-old suspect is accused of attempted rape on a 19-year-old foreign tourist who was staying in the same hotel as him and the club’s players, in concentration to prepare the championship, reports the daily Assabah.
The masseur is said to have tried to forcibly take the tourist to his room to sexually assault her. But the young woman resisted and cried for help, allowing the hotel staff to come to her rescue and free her from her aggressor. The victim filed a complaint with the hotel management, who alerted the police.
Once on the scene, the investigators heard the victim and the witnesses. They will also view the surveillance camera videos to shed light on this case. The suspect, for his part, fled after his act, but was quickly located and arrested.
A judicial investigation has been opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. Meanwhile, the OCS masseur has been taken into custody. He will be brought before the King’s Attorney General at the Marrakech Court of Appeal.
