Moroccan Soccer Team Faces Racist Abuse at Madrid Hotel During Ramadan

While the stay of the Atlas Lions since Sunday, March 26, in Madrid was going smoothly, an incident is tarnishing the good atmosphere. Employees of the Eurostars Madrid Towers hotel, the residence of the Moroccan delegation, attacked the players and the Muslim religion on Instagram.

"We serve them Ramadan shit. Their fucking beliefs," wrote one of them in a first story complaining about staying up at night to be available to the players who are observing the Ramadan fast. "Fucking Moors of shit, I don’t give a fuck about Ramadan and their fucking dead!", he added.

Given the seriousness of the remarks made, the hotel reacted by firmly condemning these acts which are in no way the policy of the house. "From the Eurostars Towers, we want to condemn any racist act and we apologize again to all those who have felt offended," reports the Spanish sports daily AS, citing the hotel management.

"The people responsible for these acts are not employees of the hotel or the chain, but are freelancers who work when there are events in the hotels," the management pointed out before adding that "they have already been fired, reported and made available to the police to be held accountable for their actions".
