Moroccan Soccer Star Arrested for Violating COVID-19 Emergency Measures

The lateral defender of the Wydad of Casablanca, Mohamed Ennahiri, was arrested last Sunday in El Jadida, along with his fiancée, for violating the state of health emergency.
According to the newspaper Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, the man, claiming to be accompanying his fiancée to the health center due to abdominal pains, was fined by the city’s police services for driving without a derogatory travel certificate.
Prosecuted for non-compliance with the state of emergency and refusal to comply, the player was taken to the police station around 1 a.m., pending his appearance in court.
In a more football-related register, the Wac of Casablanca could be declared the winner of the Botola pro, if the Royal Moroccan Football Federation decides on a definitive end to the season, during a meeting to be held this Thursday.
